Chandra Basnet
Chandra Prasad Basnet, founder of Agri Center Jhapa Pvt. Ltd., has transformed traditional farming in Nepal by pioneering banana cultivation. Inspired by his training at Kinneret College in Israel under the “Learn and Earn” program, he employs advanced agricultural technologies such as drip irrigation, precision agriculture, and sustainable fertilization. Starting with 1,000 banana saplings, his farm now spans over 6 hectares, producing 50,000 banana bunches annually. He cultivates multiple banana varieties, markets them across Nepal, and shares his expertise with local farmers, promoting modern farming practices and innovation in the region.
