ANICET NAYITURIKI
NAYITURIKI Anicet is an innovative Rwandan farmer with three interconnected agricultural projects in different districts:
Irish Potato Cultivation (Musanze District):
- Currently operates on 1 hectare, producing 80-120 tons per hectare
- Employs 10 workers
- Aims to expand to 8 hectares and 1,000 tons per season
- Utilizes advanced irrigation and farming techniques learned during an internship in Israel
- Banana Plantation (Nyagatare District)
- Currently has 100 banana plants on 1 hectare
- Employs 10 workers
- Anticipates first harvest in two years
- Plans to expand and establish broader market distribution
- Rabbit Farming (Gicumbi District):
- Started with 120 rabbits, now has 300
- Employs 5 full-time workers
- Uses rabbit manure as organic fertilizer for other crops
- Aims to supply white meat to the Rwandan market and address local nutrition needs
The projects are integrated, sustainable, and focused on improving agricultural productivity, creating employment, and contributing to food security in Rwanda. Anicet’s approach combines knowledge from his Israeli internship with local resources and innovative farming practices.
