Cross border agriculture

Kinneret Academic College serves as an international training center, offering an agricultural education program in Israel for interns from developing countries worldwide.

Supported and overseen by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this program emphasizes capacity building through the transfer of practical and professional agricultural knowledge.

It promotes global food security by providing participants with a creative, practical, and dynamic educational framework.

The program blends classroom instruction and theoretical studies with hands-on agricultural internships at farms across Israel. These internships follow the “Learning by Doing” method, allowing participants to gain first-hand experience with advanced agricultural technologies and practices at an international standard in various specializations.

Spanning 11 months, the program is open to students pursuing degrees in Agriculture or Science. Participants benefit from a unique experience that includes exposure to diverse cultures through interactions with fellow interns and colleagues, travel throughout Israel, and immersion in Israeli culture. Concurrently, they engage in an intensive study program that offers unparalleled professional development.

Israeli farmers not only collaborate with participants but also share their extensive knowledge in the field. This exchange has a lasting impact as participants return to their home countries equipped to disseminate their new knowledge, fostering commercial agriculture in the developing world.
